We love including our four legged family members when we go out sometimes and they were more than welcome here! There’s often live music and the food (& desserts) are delicious! We were pleasantly surprised and we’ve found our new spot.

This genuine piece of Old Austin has some of the best chicken fried steak I've had in quite a while. Not only is it fantastic comfort food, it's a history lesson on one family's journey through the years in our lovely city.

Excellent food, atmosphere and service. The breakfast menu offers the real deal: Delicious, hearty and fresh. The coffee is hot and the smiling servers are there to offer refills without hovering.
An excellent day starts with an excellent breakfast and Ross' is a fantastic old Austin way to get that breakfast.

It really depends on what you're looking for to determine if you'll like this place. There's almost nothing healthy on the menu. Think chicken fried steak, burgers with fries, etc. But there's also this really good atmosphere and the service is super friendly. It feels more Texan than anything else I've been to because it's Texan without trying. Heart attacks may also be Texan, though, so beware.

Next time I would like to try the fried shrimp. I wouldn't get the chicken fried chicken because I'm lactose intolerant. The broccoli was a little gross because of all the margarine they used (plain or lightly oiled broccoli tastes good to me). The fried okra wasn't bad. Good soda collection and I appreciate that they come by the can because it's easier for me to drink less soda that way.

I'm in from Minnesota for a couple of days of business. I stopped by today for what I thought would be a quick burger, nothing special. But what I found was probably the single best burger I have ever had. PLUS, great fresh cut fries and a real cozy atmosphere!! The waiter was more than helpful, fun and concerned that we had a great meal. I would HIGHLY recommend this place, PLUS music on Thursday Nights!
