Emerald Tavern Games and Cafe

This place is awesome! Came here today to check it out since I'd never heard of it before. They sell all kinds of board and card games, and the prices were pretty good. The workers were pretty knowledgeable about the cards we bought. Coffee was great. I'll definitely be back often now that I know it's here. If you want a nice place to hangout and play some games, check it out.

I’ve been to the original store before they expanded and now the new one (where sherlocks used to be).

The concept for this place is amazing and decently executed. If you love to play board games/card game’s at a local store this place will be the best of all worlds. Better tables, seats, good food, plenty of various games to buy/play, and serves alcohol. If you are looking for a restaurant experience this will not be the best place for you. It is definitely targeted towards gamers who want to play and have access to good food and drinks. So don’t expect high chairs or other normal restaurant focused comforts. This is a gaming store at its core.

It’s a great place to bring your kids (not toddlers or younger) to play board games and have snacks/food. Staff is very friendly and some have amazing knowledge of all their products. The African nectar tea was recommended and it was a delicious tea. Definitely can’t rave enough about how perfect this store is for the gaming community!

The new place is spacious, the staff is friendly, and their expanded kitchen has really upped their food game. I had the Rachel Reuben and the fries were perfectly crispy outside and soft inside. My wife had the Steak and Ale pie and loved it. Glad to see the Tavern doing well and will definitely be back.

PS: I’ll be back for a new set of dice too.

Emerald Tavern is an incredibly inclusive environment where all kinds of people come together to enjoy playing games together. This is one of my favorite places on Earth. We make several trips here a month and I am always excited like a little kid to grab some good food and a game.

They serve a large selection of draft beer, have a nice menu of various tavern-themed dishes, and some deceptively-good appetizers.

More than just a place to play games, Emerald Tavern sells games, card accessories, and supplies to paint table-top pieces.

I love this place and am so glad to see it flourishing here in Austin.
