    On a Whim!

Wifey and I spent the weekend with friends in the area. It was early Sun morning and we were on the way back home and needed to stop to get some much needed pick me up and some breakfast.

We are both coffee snobs to some degree. I am picky about the roast and flavor of my coffee.

I usually look for local shops to stop and try. So, on a whim, we stopped in Java Dive and were immediately greeted by the fresh aroma of coffee and fresh cooked food. We were the 1st customers of the day on a sleepy Texas Hill Country Sunday morning.

We were greeted by a super nice young lady and she took our order. We both got a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast taco. To my surprise, she pulled out some eggs and homemade tortillas and cooked them right there on the spot. Thats a plus right there for me. It wasn’t something that was cooked and just thrown in the microwave to warm and serve a customer.

I asked to taste the plain old dark roast coffee. She was more than happy to help me out. I received it in a nice porcelain espresso cup instead of some throw away paper cup. Plus number Two! I hate throw away cups.

The minute I smelled the fresh brewed coffee with their in house roast, I knew I was going to like it. I took a sip and that bean and roast combo was magic to my taste buds. It wasn’t overly bitter or too weak as a cup of slightly brown water, barely constituting what I would consider coffee. It was just right for me. Wifey liked it too and she’s not much of a black coffee drinker. I also got a double espresso and was equally impressed. Plus number Three!

Lastly, I had the brief opportunity to meet the owner and roaster Roni. Super nice and got to hear a little about roasting. Plus number Four!

We're going to be here a lot! The food is super fresh and so flavorful, it reminded us of eating in Italy. The owner said he goes to the store every day to get the freshest ingredients rather than ordering by the case.
At breakfast today our kids loved their meals, chocolate waffles and a tamale scramble, and I devoured a mushroom pesto omlet, which sounded a little odd but tasted fantastic. My husband has recently gone vegetarian and had plenty of good options for breakfast and lunch, plus there is great coffee and a whole page of 100% fruit smoothies.
This is not fast food, everything is made to order and takes a little time, but it's well worth the wait.

You must try this place. The food was so fresh and tasty! All the things you love to eat, but without the trouble of doing it yourself! The staff is friendly and helpful. I had enough left over to have for lunch the next day! I will surely be back!

Yes, yes, yes. The girls here are so sweet and on top of their game. When I first got here they both were helpful in picking my coffee drink, which was delicious and provided me with the rocket fuel I needed to get my work done. After awhile, the place got busy for lunch and I also ordered some food. I can't believe how well they handled the rush with just the two of them, while smiling! I got the Monte Cristo add spinach and it was so yummy! If I lived in the area I'd be here all the time.

I came here for the first time yesterday 1/18/20 and I had a great experience. The cashier was so friendly and willing to help. I got the sea salt caramel latte and it was worth every penny! I had to come back today 1/19/20 and get the same coffee! They also have a wide variety of breakfast items. I decided to try their waffle and it was absolutely delicious. The food can be a bit pricey but it is an organic cafe so it makes sense. I highly recommended to check this place out. I will for sure be coming back. Great customer service , great coffee and great food!
