Island Fork - Caribbean Cuisine

The crispy chicken sandwich was incredible! I got it with garlic sauce, and the flavors and textures were out of this world. Ordered online for pickup and they had it out in the time frame quoted online and with no hassle - will be going back again soon!

Originally from Queens, NY and relocated to Austin, TX. My husband and I coming from Indo-Caribbean backgrounds were in search for authentic Caribbean food in Austin, TX. After having food from Island Fork we can both attest that the food is equivalent to the taste of the islands and true home Caribbean food. The food reminds me of even some of the authentic Caribbean food that I would get in Queens, NY at Sybil's restaurant. Both my husband and I are rating Island Fork beyond five stars. Hands down. The flavor of the food makes you feel like you're on a Island near the beach. The restaurant is clean. And the staff is friendly and service is speedy.

I bought the curry chicken which came with rice and beans, cabbage and sweet plantains. The food was good but I bit into a few pieces of bay leaves and and something stringy, I think it was rosemary mixed in with the rice. The chicken that I received was cut up chicken thigh with little meat, mostly bone. I asked for curry gravy on the side but didn’t receive it.The plantains were mushy. The total price was $10.81. A reasonable price but needed more meat. I encourage people to try this restaurant for yourself. Hopefully you’ll have a good experience.

Just stopped by for takeout. Me and my fiance ordered the curry chicken, the rice and peas, and the cabbage. Everything was pretty good. Chicken had lots of flavor and rice was cooked perfectly. Our to go plates were packed full with food. I got full with just half my plate. Service was great, everyone was really friendly,even tho we showed up 15 minutes before they closed (we didn't realize they closed at 9 and we were really craving it lol) ...but we were still greeted with smiles. Looks like its the whole family running the place which i love. The restaurant was clean and i liked the artistic chairs they had, adds a lot of personality to the place.
