Outstanding local eatery with great BBQ, generous portions, family & traveler friendly-atmosphere and fair pricing make this a place to visit.
For the adverturous foodie always on the lookout for a taste of local cuisine and hometown excellence this place is a definate necessity.
It's a 5 ???? experience, but due to difficulty with accessing the restrooms for those with disabilities, I had to hold one back.
Note: this is the antithesis of any franchise eatery. This is a family affair.

Cool BBQ joint! I had a brisket plate. The brisket was tender and juicy. For my sides I chose potato salad and green beans, both were phenomenal. I can't wait to go back!

First off, they DO know how to make sweet tea right and that's a good start. If my first bite of brisket had been a blind tasting, I might have guessed roast beef. This meat is not over seasoned or over smoked. Moist & tender, the meat holds together with a rich beef flavor touched by smoke. This is bbq for those who appreciate good meat. The sauce offered is good but unnecessary. Much the same could be said about the ribs. Green beans live up to the hype and the potato salad is an unusual sweet style that teases my memory. The folks here take the high Texas title of "Good People". Front counter to back on the pits, a light shines in them that says that open Bible on the side table up front ain't just for decoration.
