“Chicken was not crispy, but more like greasy. If you plan to eat in your car, better ask for all the utinsels and napkins because they will not give you anything but chicken. I ordered the large spicy rice and it was not full, maybe 80%. If this is their standard, they should use smaller containers. "Welcome to Church's, would you like our large size spicy rice that's only 80% full?" Don't get me wrong, I love Church's and would drive miles to find one, but some locations are better than others.”

“Like many other Tex-Mex restaurants in Victoria; depending on what you get determines if it's good or not. Each of the Tex-Mex restaurants here are good at some but not other food items. I do enjoy the tacos and salsa here. The tamales are a strong pass for me since they use ground beef rather than roasted beef or pork. Enchiladas are average. If you order alcoholic drinks here during the day be aware that they take a while to be made as they do not have a bar tender at the helm.”

“This place is a hidden gem in town. Looking at it from the street you wouldn't think the food would be good. However, once inside everything you order is made fresh right when you order it. Had the tamales and they were amazing! If I could I would drive to Victoria to get them all the time if I didn't live 2 hrs away. The sopapillas were amazing as well not greasy or over cooked. The inside is a small cafe atmosphere and they do not serve alcohol. The servers and staff are exceptionally friendly and will take good care of you. Came down to attend the ring ceremony at the University of Houston Victoria. To obtain my college ring and I was happy to find this awesome place to eat. I'm sure all the other items on the menu would be tasty as well. The prices were not expensive and the food was to die for. You must try them when you are in town, do not let the outside of the building fool you. Go Jags!!!”
