They have recently re-opened but still under construction. Call ahead if you plan to eat here. They also take orders ahead to save time. Food was amazing! We are vegetarian and let them know a day before about it. All the dishes were made fresh to our taste - less hot ( spice level) yet very flavorful. The meal reminded us of dhabba food back in India. Highly recommend this place.

This is definitely not your typical restaurant experience to be sure. The atmosphere is very rustic. This is truly a family run business. The kids even helped with food preparation and service. The best part was they cooked everything to order in front of you and the smells are delicious while you watch. It seems they don't do a traditional menu but have a few dishes they just bring to the table. They were more than happy to accommodate us when we asked for vegetarian. The food was fresh and delicious. They initially bring you a tray with a sampling of dishes and fry bread. They keep bringing you hot fresh bread as you eat. They even bring you second helpings of the dishes. It was wonderful service and we will definitely be back.

We had not expected this place to be where it is located. We were driving by 287 south when we saw the signs.

Food is awesome theu had chicken tikka the day We went there. There is not set menu you can see online. You have choices from what they have planned to cook that day, not bad.

The only con is it is 75mph highway and you have to get off pretty quickly if you want to go there. Look at the map and you will understand what I am saying.
People are very very friendly and my kids had a blast playing with baby chicken and ducks in the yard.

Definitely recommend this place to everyone it is a must go and experience this place.

Interior wise not the best place to go, but I don't care when the food is this tasty.

When we paid there was no option for a tip and we were out of cash so felt bad when we could not pay any. But we will be going there again for sure.

An amazing gem - did not expect to stop here, but saw it on the highway and on an impulse, decided to check it out. It was Christmas day, almost 32 F outside, and my father and I were on our way to the Grand Canyon, vowing to stick to a strict schedule so we could arrive on time to Flagstaff, AZ, where we hoped to spend the night. That plan unraveled as we drove by the Punjabi dhaba, imagining hot chai and delicious Indian food in our bellies. We approached the doors, and the family who owns the dhaba greeted us eagerly. We looked around and admired the assortment of vintage military vehicles outside before going inside to the warmth of the dhabba. We soon found ourselves talking to some of the most genuine, kind people I've met, and the food did not disappoint. I had huge parathas with fresh onion and butter, piping hot chai, and spicy, delicious moong daal. It's a family-run business that you cannot afford to miss if you're driving on 287. It may be out of the way and in a remote location, but I promise you it is still completely worth it. My dad has eaten at dhabas in India and swears by the authenticity of the parathas. During our conversation, the owner said that you have to know who cooks your food to truly appreciate it, and I couldn't agree more. I may not be Punjabi, but my middle name is Singh, and that counts for something, right? So take it from a Singh, and go to the Punjabi Dhabba in Vernon, TX if you want real Indian food. 5/5

One restaurant that is in the middle of nowhere. We found the restaurant while driving from Dallas to Amarillo. One look and we knew where we would stop on our way back.

We had some issues finding the exact location because the address on Yelp is incorrect, but it's correct on Google. It's a few miles south of Vernon. We called the restaurant to confirm the location and when we finally reached the place we were greated by the owners outside the restaurant.

The dhabba looks run down from the outside. It has a few military vehicles parked in the front. From the inside, the place gives you a dhabba feel. The owner told us they opened just 3 months back and the place was built by hand. They have a vintage car inside, a Jeep and a cart (baggi). The inside is lighted with string lights. They even have a music system with lots of flashing lights.

The food tasted very similar to what you'll find in a dhabba back in India. It has a home-cooked food taste. Since the whole thing is so new, they didn't have a proper menu to order from. The owner suggested a few options and we picked Mixed Parantha and Chicken Curry. We've never had Mixed Parantha before, but we liked it a lot. It was cooked to perfection and was slightly crunchy. It came with Spiced Yogurt. The Chicken Curry was also delicious, even though the chicken was slightly overcooked. The spice levels were just perfect.

We didn't get a breakdown of the bill so we don't know how much we were charged for each item. This is my only complaint.

If this place was close to Dallas, we would visit it more often.
