I was blown away after trying the 'pav-bhaji' from this place. It is the exact one that you'll get in Mumbai! Loved the other items too (golgappe & dahi papri chat). Highly recommended Indian food truck (perhaps the BEST one) for everyone in and around Austin. We drove all the way from San Marcos, Tx and we will be coming back again! 🤙🇮🇳
Chowpatty Chats is an exquisite chat place that exudes beauty and charm. What sets this establishment apart is the exceptional couple who own and operate it, radiating kindness and down-to-earth warmth.
The food they prepared was nothing short of extraordinary. Each bite was a burst of delicious flavors that tantalized our taste buds. In addition to the chats, we also indulged in their heavenly Chikoo shake, which left us utterly satisfied. The prices were reasonable, considering the excellent quality and generous portions offered.
Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly recommend Chowpatty Chats to everyone seeking an unforgettable chat experience. The dedication and passion of the couple, combined with the mouthwatering food and fair prices, make this place a true gem. Don't miss the opportunity to savor their delightful creations.
Amazing Indian chaat food truck! Personally my favorite of all the ones I've been to in Austin. The pani for the pani puri is well balanced and flavorful with just the right amount of sour and sweet and spice. It comes with a potato and ragda mix filling, chopped onions, and red sweet chutney on the side. You can buy more puris if you need to and you probably will since it comes with a lot of filling. The samosa chaat is served warm with kachi keri (green mango) and pomegranate and is great! The sugarcane juice is squeezed fresh and is one of the best sugarcane juices I've had in Austin. The vada in the vada pav is super soft and delicious with plenty of garlic chutney and fried green chillies. It's spicy and delicious! The dabeli is sweet (but not overpowering) and tangy. Will definitely be coming again many more times!
Super spicy food ! 🌶️ 🥵 not sure if Mumbai street food is this spicy in Mumbai!
Spice levels:
Dabeli was 🥵
Bhel Puri was 🥵
Sev Puri was medium
Shrikand was good
Would like to visit again sometime and really hope that the next visit will be a better experience.
Tried this over the weekend and oh my god! This is the best chaat I’ve had in Austin so far. Authentic vada pav that is the closest to a mumbaiya vada pav. Bhelpuri was really good too with kachhi kairi pieces incorporated in. My husband tried gajar ka halwa which was very rich. Sugarcane juice was refreshing.
Looking forward to trying out pav bhaji!
