Torchy's Tacos

If you are reading this review, it means you aren't from Austin and had this place pop up after you googled "Best Tacos in Austin". So I'll keep it short and sweet. First off, these aren't "authentic" style tacos. I've had Hispanic friends say they are "tacos for white people". So if you're looking for true Mexican or even Tex Mex style tacos, these aren't the droids you are looking for.
That being said, they have very unique flavor profiles and combinations, all available "trashy", which just means covered in liquid gold (cheese). They also have a secret menu with a few items certainly worthy of being on the actual menu (like the appropriately named "Hipster" taco, but shh, it's a secret) Pro tip. If you order it to go, the tacos are noticeably less packed full of delicious meats and cheeses.

Great tacos. Other places I have to eat 2 or 3 tacos, this place, one is all I need. Very filling. Lots of variety. Soft drinks have real sugar, not corn syrup. Great place

I ordered two tacos of different flavors for the same price and one was visibly larger. Thankfully I ordered two for lunch or I would have been very hungry. I have to say the taste was amazing, just wish the one was larger. The decor is cute and I will go back and give them another chance. How could I not.

Awesome tacos and great sauces. I tried three different ones and they were all very good. We did take out so can't comment on the service. You should look for their secret menu too fur a few more choices.

We visited our son in Austin and we ate here one time. Great tacos! We only ate here once because there are so many good places to eat. We will definitely go back if we get to Austin again.
