Full of flavor and delicious is how I would describe these well topped pizzas. Everyonee is happy here because Jay the owner makes sure he takes care of his employees and customers. A quaint sports bar with casual dining but romantic enough for a relaxing date night. I will be back to try the burgers.

This was our first visit and I have no idea how this place isn’t packed! Super friendly, accommodating and attentive! The food was GREAT! We had a club sandwich and garlic fries, DELICIOUS. I also ordered a couple of drinks a Paloma and Margarita on the rocks. Plenty of space for a large family or friend group. Our waiter Brian was very nice and funny! We will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

    ***UPDATE as of Sept 22nd***

Firewater is back in business! They were never technically "out of business" but they were closed during a month long filing snafu with Williamson County. It's all behind them now.

They have several beers on tap although they're still dialing in the CO2 levels...beers have about 5 inches of head but do settle down a bit after a couple of minutes. They're able to eventually get you a glass of beer though. Watch and enjoy so to speak.

Full bar is now open too!

And now a crowd is starting to form...which is nice. Not so empty around the bar anymore.

Jay, the owner, is really committed to the place. He's very hands on with the team. His folks are friendly if not a bit absent minded and they all don't know the menu yet. Sandwiches for instance - the Roast Beef is served cold but the server didn't know that.

The quality and uniqueness of the food is still good. Pizza recipe was better under previous branding.

I still really want to like the place and support them.

    - 1 Service Star.
    - 1 Food Star.

    ***UPDATE***

Popped in for dinner at the bar after HH. They have their liquor license now but are waiting on equipment before servicing mixed drinks... probably a few days away. They now have several beers on tap... consider it a starter set of brands while they get set up and build up the business.

Three TVs have been added above the left side bar and several above the seats on the south end of the dining room.

They continue to serve chips and salsa when you sit down which is a nice touch.

Pizza Update: When we first went just after the branding change the pizza was spectacular, probably the best around but that was using the previous restaurant's recipe. The Firewater recipe is different - thinner, crispy, with a unique sauce. Frankly I prefer the old recipe and am a little disappointed. I really do like crispy dough but loved the fexture and airyness of the old one. Still on a quest for the ideal neighborhood pizza joint. None of the local usual suspects fit the bill.

We tried the Naan Butter Chicken Tacos and they were amazing. Naan bread is souch better than traditional flour tortillas. I love flour tortillas. Grew up on them. Part of my TexMex heritage but Naan "tortillas" are a needed break and nice touch. The chicken was tender and the flavors were unique but not strange. Delicious tacos.

Same great service from Megan and Vincent plus several new faces.

Still highly recommend Firewater. Looking forward to trying other menu items like the burgers. I get distracted by my stomach and often choose my cravings...I need to look for soup when it cools off.

    ORIGINAL REVIEW:

Firewater is in the final stretch of its build out. New owner and rebranding from an Italian restaurant to a Sports Bar.

They are servicing bottled beer and wine. The beer taps are in but not hooked up yet. Should be ready to pour in a week. They just got their liquor license so cocktails are another week away as well. They are adding several big screen TVs soon which will indeed transform Firewater into a Sports Bar. The last step in their renovation is to expand into the business to the South which will bring more seating.

Overall the work looks great. I'm excited to see the finished product in a couple of weeks.

The menu is quite varied with a nice selection of apps, tacos, burgers, sub sandwiches, pasta, and pizza.

They serve chips and salsa...the salsa is excellent - unique, tasty but not spicy. Chips were fresh out of the fryer.

We enjoyed the Tikka Chicken Sub Sandwich with Fries and Chicken Tenders. The Tikka Chicken Sub was really tasty - unique with a great combination of flavors and crunchiness from the shredded cabbage with a hint of cilantro. The fries were great too - sounds mundane I know but they canale or break a sandwich.

Their Bread Pudding was a great finish to the meal. Well appointed and tasty.

Service was great and prices are as you'd expect.

Will be back and hope to make this an alternative to Brooklyn Heights.

First time here and we loved it! We tried the Tikka Masala Pizza, Butter Chicken Naan Tacos, and Blackberry Bread Pudding and are seriously torn about what to get next time. Same or something new? Really great service and atmosphere too. We’ll be back… often.
