4-10-19 Lowering this to 3 stars because their tortillas, well...they're just absolutely horrendous! A Mexican restaurant is only as good as its tortillas, the staple item (besides beans/rice) to every dish. They are NOT home made there in the restaurant, and they are rubbery and probably came from a massive bag of cheap tortillas from some discount bulk vendor. They are positively horrible. Otherwise, I dine here about every other week and I have never had anything but a fantastic meal here...and the chips and salsa are addicting! Very nice servers and staff make it so pleasant to dine here. But, PLEASE make your own tortillas or have someone do it for you!!!!
Lunch with Howell family members. Had appetizer of queso with fajita chicken, which was great. Chips and salsa consisted of very light and crispy chips. Meal was their taco Tuesday consisting of 3 beef tacos. I ordered the crispy taco shells, which, to my surprise, were crispy flour taco shells that were delicious. Very friendly and attentive service.
First time in and it was a wonderful experience! Staff is very friendly and while it was busy, service was great! Martha our server was so sweet and attentive! Our food, I had the Caldwell Fajitas, came out very quickly and piping hot! The food was excellent and the fajita meat was juicy and very tender!
Meal was good. I had Caldwell fajitas which had a mix of beef, chicken and shrimp with a good not too spicy seasoning. I could have used more green peppers on the hot plate. Plenty of tortillas. My wife had the Monterey Chicken which she liked. We have eaten there before and had enchiladas. I like their mole sauce. Fried avocado not as good as old La Playa, but it is gone. We would have had dessert, but the server slapped the ticket down as soon as she refilled our ice tea. Go early (5-5:30) as it gets busy.
First time actually sitting down and eating here. It was pretty busy and the waiter Jeremy was very intentive. My family was eating at a different Mexican food place about 2 blocks east of here on Williams Dr. There service went down a lot. So we tried this place and I will be coming back with my family. Keep it up and thank you for the good food!
