Gumbo's North on the Square in Georgetown

Well where do I begin...? I was there for a wedding reception so I didn't dine in their regular seating area, however, if the service and food I and others received in one of their upstairs rooms says anything about Gumbo's in general then it would be spectacular! I had what I can only describe as OMG in every bite of this almond encrusted chicken fried chicken or something to that flavor. Not sure that's on their regular menu but if so then next visit it's one for dine in and another to go! For me the 'G' in G-town now stands for Gumbo's!

Wonderful! Great service! Our Food was delicious! Family owned business. Met the owners! They made us feel like part of their family!! Can't wait to go back!

If I could add 5 more stars, I would! My background - many years in the military doing Quality Assurance and Evaluations, people don't realize that most people only complain, seldom give praise! Mr and Mrs Page, thank you so much for having such a good establishment!

It was the holiday season AND my wife's birthday, and due to medical issues, I had to plain something "last minute" for dinner. I called, made the reservation, and a few hours later my wife and I had one of the most enjoyable nights for dinner and drinks at Gumbo's North. The restaurant was incredibly crowded, but our server, Ryan, was THE BEST! He was professional, stayed on top of everything (despite the huge crowds), and understood it was my wife's birthday and ensured it was a special night for us. She and I were so pleased, I asked to speak with the manager, Bill, who was clearly busting his tail to facilitate the large amount of business. He was THE BEST as well, and I witnessed 1st hand his professionalism.

I really hope the owners know how well their management and staff run that place...I can guarantee two things - ALL the food was excellent, and my wife and I will go back AND recommend Gumbo's North to all our friends and family. Thank y'all for a great experience!!!

My husband and I ate at Gumbos North in Georgetown for the very first time last night, celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary. It's a risk to try some place for the first time on a special occasion, but our experience was wonderful. The downstairs atmosphere is cozy and intimate (although maybe a little too dimly lit for our old eyes to easily read the menu). The food was amazing! My husband had steak that was cooked precisely as he likes it and it was so tender it practically melted in his mouth. Marvelous flavor, too. I had the tortilla encrusted salmon with blackened crab cake, and it was even better than what we've eaten in Alaska. We split the shrimp cocktail appetizer, which was also delicious. I had to stop my husband from wanting to lick the plate on which his whiskey cheesecake was served, as he enjoyed it so much, and I woofed down my key lime pie unable to pace myself because it was so good.

Our server, Ryan, was helpful in our selecting a wine that we both liked, and was very good at meeting our needs without being intrusive.

A great way to wrap up celebrating our special day!
