A group of four and our first visit to Alma, which was opened two months prior. Our first impression was very nice decor and friendly staff. We were immediately greeted and seated. The menu items are very unusual but arranged very well and easy to understand. Our server, Annika, was excellent. She was 100% knowledgeable on the menu items and how they were prepared by the chef. This took a lot of guess work out of the ordering process. We had a shareable Hells Eggs which were outstanding with the candied bacon topping. We also shared a sample (free on the house) of the Mexican Cornbread which was very tasty. For entree's I had the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf. It was slightly infused with jalapeno. It was good. It was served on a bed of creamed corn and a side of Adult Mac n' Cheese. The Mac n" Cheese was incredible. My wife had the Marinated Nova Scotia Salmon which she enjoyed. Our couple had the Hickory Smoked Pork Chop which he described as the best pork chop he has eaten. His friend had the Wagyu Beef Brisket Tacos which she also devoured. Our group also shared the Ceviche Sample which is served on a bed of crushed ice, and the Southwestern Caesar Salad. It was unusual in its presentation and was shared by all four. This salad includes baked parmesan type crust and jalapeno polenta croutons which were great. In summary, we enjoyed each and every item that we tried. Our server was 100% "spot on". It was nice eating at a restuarant that exceeded our expectations. Often times I go away disappointed in our area restaurants but that was not the case with Alma. We will return soon.

This place is a hidden gem...for now. I almost hate to write this because this place is clearly special, but it's also fairly hard to find, and I'm guessing many people might be deterred by its location in a "retirement community". The hours are also a bit confusing if you're relying on the typical "google it" journey - definitely check Alma's site, call them, or use the online reservation system, which is what we did when we finally "got in." Unfortunately, I feel like my husband and I would have been in much sooner without confusing, conflicting info on Google and Yelp. C'est la vie. It was well worth the wait.
Our service was fantastic despite making reservations at the end of the night...which I think honestly speaks to their level of service. Our server (Tiffany, I think) was so attentive, and despite me telling her to go ahead and move us quickly through food and fire everything at once, made sure we had things come in courses appropriately so we had a good experience. They never seemed to rush us, and even asked what desert we wanted to have.
The food and cocktail suggestions from our fantastic server were on point. Definitely recommend the margarita. Old fashioned is also on point. The ahi ceviche was not our favorite because the coconut milk just didn't fit the way we'd hoped, but the fish was fresh and nicely prepared. I'd try another ceviche next time personally, but if you like coconut that could be for you.
The Chilean sea bass was to die for. The sauce was so, so good. Something with corn and aji amarillo if I recall. Seriously not to miss.
Sara, the manager there, checked on us and made sure our experience was nice. She inquired about food, and made sure we had what we needed. Perfect amount of checking in and not being bothered by both our server and the manager. We felt very cared for.
I can't wait to see this place grow....but also a little afraid for it to blow up. Also, can't wait to make my way through the deserts. We had something with chocolate and peanut butter, which was to die for!

Really great news spot on the edge of Georgetown. I had the soy ginger fish tacos and my wife had the cob salad. Waiter was great and helped us navigate the menu.

Also place was designed for people to talk across a table. Well done

Definitely will be returning! Everything from the food to the drinks were fantastic. Attended a soft opening a few days ago and did not disappoint. Definitely would make a reservation to come back! Five stars is well deserved!

Five stars all the way! The service and food were excellent! Attended a “soft” opening and was blown away by this great addition to Georgetown, Texas upscale restaurants. Looking forward to more enjoyable meals at this fine establishment. Dress appropriately, and I definitely recommend making a reservation!
