Drinks are good, we had no wait time even though it was quite packed on a Friday nite. We got the shrimp combo, beef tips, fried wings, mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese and red beans and rice. The red beans and rice were bland but the mashed potatoes we amazing. Chicken was well seasoned and the beef tips were tender with a touch of spice. The cornbread is to die for, I could eat that everyday. We were pleased with the service and food overall.
Best. Cornbread. Ever. We had the blackened catfish, Cajun tenders, gravy fries, and chicken and sausage gumbo with mac and cheese, collard greens, corn, red beans and rice, and fries. Not one thing we ordered was anything less than amazing. Best Cajun food in town, hands down.
I have had their catfish poboy, mac and cheese, greens, black eyed peas and their turkey and dressing plates. My family has also tried the chicken tenders and fried chicken wings. All of them have been good and made fresh daily. This is definitely a nice and homey like feel creole inspired restaurant. I've also had their apple crisp which tasted like Thanksgiving all over again. Make sure to not get their at the last minute if you want dessert. The dessert is made fresh daily so once they make it and run out of course you may miss out on it. Oh and their cornbread is kind of sweet, crisp and fluffy
which for me means it's made just right.
Disappointed.... came in here for lunch on fat tuesday wanting some Jambalaya or Gumbo and they serve it on their normal menu. I ordered the creole chicken and it was good! Just think they should offer less and cut back on the price a little. Maybe only one side (not two) and offer three or two pieces (not four). Total was about $15 with a drink? Its a pretty good place however I had to keep getting my waiters attention or go find him half the time (the reason for a three and not a four star). Its a 50/50 if I would recommend this place or return.
First time here and the whole staff was really nice and friendly. One of the staff members was very knowledgeable and gave us good recommendations on what to get. Perfect place for a home cooked meal. I really enjoyed the cabbage and the bayou chicken was good. They also had big pieces of cornbread that was good also.
