This place is so much better now that Tim the manager was fired!

I am a pretty regular customer here, coming in at least 4-5 times a week.
they must of gotten a new weekend baker because the last two weekends I have noticed a big difference. The bagels seem to look a lot better, they have a better amount of toppings on them. The pastries also look a lot better, they have a good looking amount of icing on them. unlike weekdays where they barely get anything on them. who ever it is should be baking more often they seem to really care about presentation. were as the week baker he seems to just bake like its his job, no care is put into it.

My company often caters from here for breakfast (bagels, shmear, and coffee). Their bagels aren't bad, I've tried better (sorry I'm from NYC), but I do like the wide variety they offer. Also I like their variety of shmears (bagel spread, think cream cheese on bagel). Shmears can be a breakfast spread like Smoked Salmon (fish for breakfast?), or a snack spread like Nutella on bagel. Speaking of snacks, to satisfy your sweet tooth, they have Cookies, Muffins, Pastries, and other Delectable Sweets. Their hot and cold beverages are by Caribou Coffee, from classic coffee, teas, to blended drinks.

Interior is spacious with ample tables and chairs. Like most coffee houses, it's often packed with University of Utah students, studying or hanging out, conveniently located near campus. I usually go for brunch or after the lunch rush, so I miss the crowd, and always find a seat. They have two different counters to order and pay, so you start your order on your left, and pick up and pay on right counter. Which isn't a bad setup, so the everyone can form a line from the left counter to the right horizontally, instead of the line forming vertically through the entrance/exit door.

The couple of times I went, I ordered Albacore Tuna Salad for lunch. It had everything expected on a great tuna salad (tuna with celery in creamy mayo, lettuce, tomato, and red onion), that came in a Multigrain Roll. It comes with a long dill pickle, and a side choice of chips, fruit cup, or potato salad-I got the potato salad. I picked up their Fruit Salad in a cup (mix of melons, pineapples, and red grapes-not bad, the melons were hard and sour) and the Greek Yogurt Parfait (separate granola and raisin mix-in, over greek yogurt-cereal was stale and golden liquid under the yogurt was yuck-really gross!). They sell other over the counter bakery items and drinks. I tried their Cookies 'n Cream Shmearful (Shmearful are like shmear filled bagels), which was warm and delicious-kind of addictive. The Strawberry Banana Smoothie tasted too sweet for my liking, I don't like how they use a puree instead of read fruits. Another time I tried their Nutella Shmear on Cinnamon Raisin bagel, sipping on the limited time holiday drink, Ho Ho Mint Mocha-both were sweet tooth satisfying.

I'm not finished trying everything in this place, I sill want to try their breakfast sandwiches, more beverages, and bakery items (although I'm trying to cut down the sugars), so stay tuned.
