Update, May 2023: Bistro Provenance reopened under new ownership. My partner and I had a lovely dinner at Bistro Provenance. We ate the bone marrow and potato galette to start. I had the chicken and my partner had the salmon for our main course. For dessert, we split the chocolate pot de creme. We absolutely loved the food. The bone marrow was amazing - highly recommend. The potato galette was also delicious. The chicken had a ratatouille and together the dish was absolutely mouth watering. I only give it a four out of five starts because my partner's salmon seemed a bit under seasoned, kind of lack-luster compared to my chicken. The dessert pot de creme was so silky, smooth, and decadent. I also drank one of their mixed drinks, which the bartender easily made non-alcoholic for us. Very accommodating. AND they honored our gift card mentioned in my February 2023 review below. I highly recommend this restaurant. I hope it stays here in provo for a long time.

February 2023: Received a large gift card at Christmas so that my partner and I could go here, but when we made reservations in early January, it was closed. No sign of when it will reopen. Trying to get in contact with owner to have the gift card refunded.

The filet was incredible- cooked perfectly, it had an earthly taste that was complimented by the balsamic glaze. The variety of mushrooms soaked in the flavor and gave each bite a wonderful texture. I also loved the garlic mashed potatoes and the generous portions.

The soup of the day was delicious. The day I went was a celery base and it was surprisingly rich in flavor.

The cream brulee was excellent however the brulee crust was extremely thick. I ended up just putting most of that to the side and eating the cream. Normally it should be a light crust that provides a nice crunch, this was a bit excessive.

WOW WHERE HAS THIS DINING EXPERIENCE BEEN MY WHOLE LIFE?! 🤩
I truly cannot give enough high praises to this place: aesthetic transports you to the most gorgeous cafe (even going to the bathroom was an artistic experience!), the open kitchen allows you to watch the chefs at work, and THE FOOD! You are not even prepared for such a flavor sensation to enter your mouth!!!!!!!!!
Whatever you do, whatever you order, DO NOT (I repeat) DO NOT miss out on those truffle & Parmesan fries! 😤 I almost ordered a box to go home with! Hahaha my ham & Brie baguette was so complexly delicious for such a simple sandwich and the burger was phenomenal, top 5 on my best burger list!
I will say, this place is not for the faint of wallet (save your pennies to go!) but it is most definitely worth every penny you spend there!!!!

New ownership and things are looking really good. Same owners as Communal, Black Sheep, Chom, etc. We had Steak Frites, Caprese Sandwich, French Onion soup, and Crème Brûlée. All very good and Sam provided excellent service as well. Love the music and atmosphere.
