I avoid most Americanized Mexican food; cafe Rio is the exception.
Their food is good if you like Mexican. Their seating is spread out enough for some conversation and that's all good. It was hard to order sometimes due to a random background noise, and the large screens for the current pandemic and masks aren't helping, but we made it. It's a comfy place.
Let me first say, I have been a Cafe Rio regular for a long time. I've been to Cafe Rio Locations all across Utah Valley for years, and I'm kicking myself for not visiting the Spanish Fork location sooner. The Provo Cafe Rio is the closest to where I live, and has been regularly disappointing me for several years now. The Spanish Fork location is the first location to provide me with an experience close to my first Cafe Rio visit back in 2008. This was quite literally the best salad I've had in almost a decade. The employees were friendly to me, and friendly to each other. They seemed to actually get along and enjoy what they were doing. I asked for extra, and unlike the Provo location (where I have to ask for extra of everything to even get a normal-sized salad), they actually gave me extra. I mean LOOK at this picture. THAT is what a Cafe Rio salad is supposed to look like. This Cafe Rio will be getting my business exclusively for as long as they keep this up.
