Loyal K-9 Southern Utah

We have a 4 year old AmStaff named Leela whom has always done what she wants. David was great to work with. On day one when we made an inquiry, David came over and assessed our situation. He gave us a short list of things we needed to fix. He offered two different programs, but there was no sales tactics, David just gave it to us straight. We went with the 3 week program, and Leela came back with a compete understanding of verbal and non verbal commands. The biggest thing that I learned through this process (and if you are considering you have to know this) the training doesn't end when you pick up your dog. The OWNERS are the ones that need to train. Leela knows the commands, and follows them. There are very subtle non verbal commands that David will teach your dog (stepping with left foot first means x, right foot means y) that you will be responsible to keep using moving forward. He provided training videos for the owners so that we can make sure that we are doing our job maintaining what David taught.
Bottom Line: David is significantly less than the local competition, and is more than qualified. Leela got a crash course in communication and she crushed it. I cannot recommend this service enough if you are thinking about it.

Loyal K9 critique and review

My wife and I selected Loyal K-9 based on our research we had done about dog trainers in the southern Utah area.

We called David and set up an appointment, where he could make an assessment of our dog Traeger. He is a six month old German Shepherd with a lot of energy.

David was able to spend several minutes with Traeger and he explained how the obedience’s training would be accomplished and recommended a 3 week training program for us.

David was able to provide all the answers we needed and we agreed with the provisions in the contract.

My wife and I found David to be a straightforward, no BS kind of guy. One of the things that he explained to us was, he could train the dog but it was up to us to make sure that we followed his directions so it would prepare us for our training. We watched his videos and really tried to prepare our self for the graduation day.

After David spent three weeks with Traeger, it really showed how much a professional He is.

In his 30+ years of training military, law-enforcement and Civilian k-9s Dave has gained a tremendous knowledge in his field. He is patient and loving with the dogs, but knows when to be stern when necessary to maximize the potential for your dog.

David went above and beyond our expectations.

Both my wife and I would give him a five star rating and highly recommend his services as a dog trainer.

David is honest, experienced, reliable and a breath of fresh air! He gave our home hope and peace! It was just what we needed at this moment of our lives! Don’t hesitate to contact him. Sophie our 6-month old german shepherd spent three weeks at Loyal K-9 and we are very pleased with the great results. Before her training she was a bit skittish about even walking on the sidewalk in front of our home. Now she and I walk every day (±3.5 mile walks). She walks right beside me, never pulls and when I come to a stop, she sits quietly without being told. Truly a pleasure. Thank you David.

I was at first afraid to leave my high energy pit bull for a few days with David but she was in great hands. When I came to pick her up she was well behaved and was told she was good :) thank you Loyal K-9!!! I only take my dog here when I'm out of town and she can't come with me because I know he can handle and train her well.
