Black Bear Diner St. George

Traveling on Sunday in Utah reduces the number of places to eat. We ended up here because our first choice was closed. For the most part it was a pleasant visit. Our server, Robert, was great as was the manager, Jane. The food is comfort food and generally good. Unfortunately, due to the current staff shortage going on everywhere, cleanliness was not an apparent high priority. The bathrooms were in horrible condition, the restaurant floors were filthy, and one of our meals was served with hair in the food.
We were comped the meal and the staff were very kind, but they definitely need some more hands on deck.

Excellent Experience. We came out from WV to visit and our family suggested coming. We came with a group of 11 and Johnny was amazing making sure all of us was well taken care of. Food was great with decent portions; especially breakfast which was a lot of food.

Wow! I'm so glad we tried this place! The employees were so friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing and kind of retreat-like cozy. We came back several times during our two week stay in St. George, and I already want to go back again! The pancakes really soak up the butter and syrup!! The portions are huge!!!

The last time we went, we got the breakfast chicken fried steak (called "the grizzly" because it could come with pancakes and I'm definitely forming an addiction to those!)
Firstly it was everything I look for in a chicken fried steak yet can hardly find done right anywhere! Secondly, the portion was enormous! Double what we were expecting! We split the meal between me and my husband and still had leftovers! (Enough for an entire meal for one of us!)

Literally the best food in St. George! The menu is a newspaper and the decor is superb! Their huckleberry shake is the best shake I have had in my life. Their bacon is the bomb and the french toast is so dang good! Whenever I visit St. George again, I'll be back! Thank you for a wonderful experience both visual and tasteful.

Food was decent but the service was slow. Took over 30 minutes to get food after i ordered.
