Chantecleer Restaurant

Everything our party ordered was outstanding: halibut, chicken breast, duck, steak. Each was well-prepared, well-seasoned, and accompanied by excellent and appropriate side dishes. The European-style salad starter was as delicious as promised, and the dessert strawberry special with a zabione sauce was indeed special. Add to this a beautiful interior ambiance and helpful service. This restaurant does close for a break during Vermont's "mud season" but is a place not to be missed in summer and winter.

Wow. We just had dinner for the first time and it was excellent! We came in on a mid-week night in the middle of a snow storm and the place was half full, we sat on the side that was not full (empty) next to Dennis the penguin. It was a little awkward with us being the only ones on that side of the dining room, there were lots of chickens everywhere, and the background elevator music was really something but once we got used to it man that was a great meal. Our hostess/waitress was super welcoming, totally on top of the experience, and the service was excellent. The food start to finish was excellent too. The escargot was amazing, so garlicky, and perfectly cooked. The schnitzel was very light and tender, sirloin was cooked dead on perfect med rare and a very nice cut, and both the fries and spatzle where very tasty. Oh, best side/starter salad ever. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent food! Best duck I've ever had, time and time again. It's not cheap but well worth the money. Always excellent...
