I'm not a big tea drinker but I came in and ordered the mushroom dumplings. The dumplings were great! The two owners, who were both behind the counter when I arrived, seemed pretty upset that I'd decided to come in despite the fact that I was the only one in there. Maybe they were just in a bad mood that day though, I don't want to assume anything! Tried to plug my laptop in to charge. There were plastic protectors in all the sockets but no signs saying not to use them, so I plugged my laptop in. A few minutes later the owner who was now visibly upset with me came to let me know my laptop had short-circuted the entire electrical system, and they lost power. Maybe I should have asked to use the plug first, but I think a small note saying "Do not use" would be a good idea, as this also broke my laptop... Again, not blaming them for this, but a small note would be helpful so this doesn't happen to future customers!
The last thing I will add is that I think it's important people know that this business was created by two white people giving their spin on East Asian tea and cuisine. If you choose to eat here just be mindful that there are other BIPOC-owned businesses on the street/in the neighborhood who sell similar food items that need your support too.
Ordered char siu bao, chicken jiaozi and a spring roll. Super delicious! Everything was spiced beautifully and the staff were super nice. Plus the dining room has lots of tables and huge windows for people watching! ? Will definitely go back again
Really great tea. The five spice almond cookies were large and soft, just how I like them. Great bao and shishito peppers, everything was fresh and delicious.
The shop is in a cozy location near church street, a great location to people watch or shelter from the snow with hot tea.
Wow - what a wonderful place! We had puer and green teas and a five-spice almond cookie while waiting for our takeout order, and it was all really perfect and magical. When we got home we dug into the shishito peppers and mushroom jiaozi, and these were superb - beautifully cooked and super flavorful. A huge addition to the Burlington restaurant scene! Thanks.
The bao was filling and really good. The western temple tea was a great way to start the day
