Definitely a taste of Austria in Vermont. Different activities available at the lodge and easy to explore some short hikes in the woods behind the lodge, especially the trail up to the stone Chapel.. Try the Trapp beers and also the hot chocolate in the Kaffeehaus a few minutes from the main lodge. Beautiful sunrise views from the front of the lodge.... A lovely treat if you're interested in the story of the Von Trapp Family whilst exploring nearby Stowe, Vermont
The lodge is an amazing slice of Austria nestled in the Green Mountains in Vermont. We stopped in for a drink at the bar. The staff was friendly, and the view is simply not to be believed. Earlier in the week we had stopped off at the beer hall, where the beer, food, and atmosphere were all wonderful. We would certainly be interested in lodging here in the future.
My two sisters and I celebrated my birthday in high style with a sleigh ride at Trapp! Beneath clear blue skies we jingled over well-packed snow drawn by a team of beautiful black Percheron horses. Our driver, Mr. Martel, made sure we were warm and comfortable and entertained us with wonderful anecdotes, the occasional brisk trot, and an exciting little down hill run. We enjoyed every single minute!
Hard to beat with great cross country skiing, snow showing and down hill skiing all on site or nearby. A bit of old Austrian flavor to their decor, certainly their history, and of course their fine restaurant. Affiliated Brew house serves their superb craft beers and fine versions of Austrian traditional foods. Very helpful and just plain nice staff. Its hard to be perfect but they came close for a great winter long weekend. We will be back!
Private owned chalets are like you are transported back in time to a village in Austria. The views are breathtakingly beautiful of the Green Mountains.
Everything here is top-notch . Staff goes above and beyond , extremely helpful in making your vacations outstanding.
My favorite thing to do is be in the outdoor Hot tub when it's snowing , and the horse drawn sleigh ride . Have also gone cross country skiing and snowshoeing on the property .
Taking the tours ,watching the evening movies & entertainment. The activities calendar for the daily activities are so helpful to making our vacation truly memorable .
