The Wheel Inn is the best. Never had a bad meal or bad service and everything is made from scratch. Nothing beats a Wheel Burger with hand cut fries for dinner and a giant piece of cake for dessert!!!
I really like The Wheel Inn. Heavy helpings of good food. Great pies. Cold beer. The staff is great and local crowd is quite friendly. On more than one occasion I have received a complimentary beverage from another customer, and I don't know anyone in town. Seems characteristic of Benson, nice people. I stop in whenever I am in that neighborhood. Unfortunately I live quite a distance away, only travel that corridor, thus only visiting a couple of times per year. My compliments to The Wheel Inn and the people of Benson.
It was our second visit in two weeks...Although the decoration is outdated, the food is fresh, abundant, tasty and very reasonably priced. The pizzas are large and made right and the dessert pies are not to be missed! As a matter of fact- start with the pies... The service is friendly and complements the good food. In brief- worth the trip along the typical and relaxing Vermont landscape.
Great food! Rustic atmosphere. Friendly service. A bit pricey, but the portions are huge and delicious, so it's well worth splurging! Oh, and, save room for dessert because their pies are heavenly :)
Fabulous dining experience! It's a sit anywhere style restaurant and we were given menus promptly, followed by stellar service all the way through; the ladies in there were busting some serious butt! The prices can be a little steep, at least on their specials board (which is what we ordered from) but the quality was fantastic and the portions huge! I also ordered a whiskey sour from their full bar, which was brought, again promptly and in a generous portion and perfectly balanced/mixed.
Wheel Inn Restaurant is definitely a hidden jem in this quaint farm town!
