The new facility is beautiful, a huge accommodating main room with a gorgeous bar and fantastic staff. The company also pays all employees fair and generous wages and all tips go to local charities which is awesome. Can sample most of their beers in the main room and most are also available for purchase, but demand is high so it can be hit or miss on some of the more popular beers. They often have events and entertainment, as well some other activities like cornhole (quite often the common brewery game these days), there is also a nature trail maintained by the town that has an entrance and exit at the brewery. Quite a brewery and a great place to go for relaxing afternoon or evening.
I guess this is a new facility. Huge tasting room and outdoor patio. High ceilings with exposed beams. Food and beer service is walk up. Great selection of beer and nice selection of appetizer style bites. Also big production facility. Would've loved to have taken some photos of brewhouse but it was closed the day we were there
My average review is because of two things - specifically if you are out of town and visiting. 1. The location does not allow dogs, even in it's outside patio and the staff was a touch snarky about it. 2. I prefer the canned Sips over the draft version. I'm not sure what it is but I tried it here and at another location that served it on draft and both did not have a fresh clean taste to it.
So Mad River Valley is raving about Lawson’s so I had to check it out...Beautiful building and indoor space. They have spent some serious $$$. By MRV standards, maybe a bit too beautiful? Bit sterile for me...Decent staff, none of the beer selections knocked me out, and at a party the night before had tried a few cans that I thought were underwhelming. Had the big VT soft pretzel, average, at $6 + another $2 extra for beer cheese not something I would have again. Not sure if they have brewery tours, they do have a viewing room but to the average person looking at huge stainless steel tanks your attention span is about 4 minutes....
The taproom is nice with exposed wood and high ceilings. There is plenty of seating with large tables for bigger groups. There's also outdoor seating with a fire pit. A good amount of Lawson's beers are available on tap and for purchase in cans. The brewery itself is located just out back and a viewing area is available to the public if you want to check it out.
