We went to dinner on Sunday night literally no one else in main restaurant . Service was slow which is common these days .
Due to the long wait and extremely limited menu we actually just paid for our drinks and left . We have been here in past and this is not the same restaurant . The location and building are beautiful as is the setting . They need to step up their game as far as service and menu .

The Pitcher Inn is beautiful. The dining room is elegant with wonderful artwork and working fireplace. Dinner was very good but portions were very small for the price. The menu is limited with 4 first course options and 5 entrees. We determined the same menu is offered in Tracks, the lovely tavern downstairs, although there was confusion about this. Our server told us the menu in the tavern was different, which one would expect. The endive salad had 6-7 leaves for $15. Entrees ranged from $34 for beetroot risotto to $46 for beef tenderloin.

Service was slow. It was 10 minutes before we saw our server after being seated. She did tell us they were down one server.

There was confusion about our reservation. A message was left confirming a few days before requesting a call back. I left a message saying we were looking forward to dinner. I received a call saying our reservation had been cancelled. When I asked why, I was told she had a lot of messages and was mixed up. When we arrived they said we had no reservation and she could see we cancelled. After further review we were told someone had already been seated for our reservation. Funny thing is we were the only table of 2.

For the price you expect more attention to detail.

This was one of the most remarkable weekend getaways I have ever experienced and worth every penny! From the wonderful communication pre-arrival, assistance with booking dinner reservations both nights, to the greeting upon arrival and showing us to our room and all of the special touches, to the wonderful breakfast (those croissants...my goodness), to the amazing service, wonderful food, and ambiance at Tracks, to the room itself, I truly could not have more remarkable things to say about The Pitcher Inn. Having worked many years in hospitality, I think customer service does more than any meal or room could ever do, and it is clear that it is valued at the Pitcher Inn. A tremendous thank you to Darci and Laura for the most impeccable customer service and hospitality from check in to check out. And the young female server at breakfast who also (I think) managed housekeeping and gave us the warmest goodbye. Also to the staff at Tracks -- I am unfortunately blanking on names but the stunning tall female server and young male server were tremendous! Thank you for ensuring we had wine glasses and an opener for our room. And a special thank you to Laura for the sweet gift upon our departure -- you are the absolute best and The Pitcher Inn is so lucky to have you!

I could go on, but I'll leave it at this. If you have the chance to stay or dine at The Pitcher Inn, you absolutely will not regret it. We already cannot wait to return!

What an amazing weekend spent at "The Pitcher Inn", thanks in part to all the staff but most notably, Tracy the General Manager.
A weekend made particularly special when Tracy went above and beyond by accommodating a few special requests.
Our room was the perfect ski lodge theme room, affectionately known as "Ski".
Tracy gave us a quick tour of some of the other rooms, which were also quite unique.
Dinner in the attached restaurant was amazing as was the breakfast.
The extensive wine cellar and beer list, equally impressive.
I think we've found a new "go to" getaway!
