Bagels, sandwiches, coffee, cool drinks. Easy parking in Harmony lot in back of building. Reliably good with lots of seating.
We've eaten here a few times,. The food is very good. The cafe is clean. And staff is helpful.
This is my first time going to the Works. The Works has a great atmosphere, and has fair prices. I tried three bagels, two works bagels, one with herb cream cheese, one with tofu cream cheese, and then a bacon, egg, cheese, and avocado on a jalapeno cheddar bagel.
The best thing here is the bacon and the cream cheeses. Cream cheese quality is outstanding, and the bacon is real and flavorful. Unfortunately, the weak point is the bagels. The bagels are dry and lack the thick crust that a proper NY bagel has. It isn't bad, just not great.
I have visited The Works frequently, and would consider myself a regular! Their emphasis on the foods they serve are - value and healthy meals. That said, I can never see past their awesome BLT on Sour Dough Bread. Each time I visit, I vow to try something different. But I always end up ordering this as it is so good. The Works has a varied menu, much of it Organic. They also have a great selection of Smoothies, salads and Sandwiches. Prices are pretty good. Service is excellent too. Employees are so polite and professional, and helpful. If there was one criticism I could make, it would be to add more areas where customers can sit and use there phones, tablets or other electronic devices while plugged in. As far as I can see, there is only two plugs available. If customers could plug their devices in, they would visit more frequently and stay longer buying coffees and foods.
They source local foods as much as possible for their salads and sandwiches. From the outside it looks like a bagel shop - but it's so much more. Soups, sweets, smoothies, organic ancient grains power bowls, breakfast burritos - it's all good. Consistently good quality. Owner supports organizations helping the homeless.
