I have enjoyed several of Charlottesville's Salvadorian options, like Mi Canton, and the more generalized Latin fare of Super Amanacer, and Mi Casita holds up. It's pricey., but delicious food, with good service and more than adequate portions. Like the others mentioned, Papusa are about $2, and plates are $8-10. The salsas were very good, spicy and flavorful, full of cilantro where apropos. The 2 papusa revuelta I ordered were fresh, well cooked, and crisp. I had the Tacos Dorado Pollo as my main, and was surprised by the sweetness of the oil in the crisp rolled tortilla. The slaw and cotija were fresh, and gave a nice balance to the good sized tacos. The seafood sopa my friend enjoyed was generous to the point of laughs. The bowl was massive. I shared a few of the sopa's submerged items, though I'm not a fan of seafood, and the corn, potato, and plantain were delicious and held the briny broth well. For about $30 for two people with coffee and app, it's not for everyday dining, but if you are looking for a special treat, visit this Pantops secret. The service alone is worth going for.
Excellent food and service. Will definitely be returning soon.
I ate lunch here and will definitely go back. Great food and service! I highly recommend.
I've eaten here twice, once in the restaurant and once calling in an order and picking it up. The food I've tried is excellent and the staff is really, really friendly.
My husband and I just had dinner there and the food was amazing! Everything so fresh! The staff were very nice. I hope Charlottesville discovers this hidden gem!
