Excellent pulled pork sandwich. Nachos were great. Will definitely go there again.
The food looked great. Good menu, fast service, nice bar but the bartender's attitude SUCKED. Not sure if it was because I was black although it felt that way, just saying.. Otherwise, I'd come back.
Nothing really impressive. The brisket looked like it came frozen originally and wasn't really well prepared. The pulled pork was fine but they literally just threw it in a microwave behind the counter to heat it up. This was the biggest offense for me. I understand that some restaurants might microwave food and I generally try to avoid places like that. I don't think I've ever been in a place that just had their microwave at the counter and just threw it in. I find it difficult to market yourself as a BBQ place if you're going to do that. The Mac and cheese was luke warm and bland. The sauce was probably the best part but that's not saying much. I've lived in North Carolina and Texas and been to plenty of good and bad BBQ places and this is not the worse but it's on the lower half for me. It might be better earlier in the day but I went there during dinner time so I don't think I should've had an issue. If anything this place might be a good bar but I wouldn't come here for the food
some of the best BBQ in the area. meat so tender you hardly have to chew it and so flavorful you don't NEED sauce... but you might want it cuz the sauce is pretty $&@%!^ amazing.
the staff was very friendly and appreciative of the praise we gave their food. I'd cross the bridge for this 'cue.
Being from Texas, it’s hard to find good BBQ around here. I will cut to the chase and say that I come to Pork Barrel for my fix. It’s simple, you don’t get lost trying to figure out how to order (you just walk up to the counter where the giant menu is) and your food comes pretty quick. Several [great] BBQ sauces, which is a big plus! Self seating... and even though I feel like it’s not a big place, there’s always a place to sit. The bar is nice and they have several TVs with whatever sport is on for that season.
Let’s be serious... you can always appreciate a BBQ place that gives you floss and mouthwash in the bathroom!
