Straight up incredible pizza! Dare I say the best in the area. Fantastic service and flavor. The crust and cheese are heavenly. The marinated gigante beans and marcona almond tart were delightful. The folks working were so kind and welcoming. They were also baking fresh bread and it smelled amazing. If you're looking for a fresh, delicious pizza check them out!
The essence of a great pizza is the crust, and this has to be one of the best,. Like all great pizzas, they use a starter and let it rest for days resulting in a light, airy, crispy crust with no yeasty flavors. The toppings are very good benefiting an Italian chef. This is too small to be a pig out pizza, its more a pizza adventure. Their biggest problem is they sell out days ahead.
Very good! I'm pretty addicted to pizza and this new Roman style in the neighborhood is great. Thin and crispy crust with the fresh made cheese is hard to beat. They are not topping heavy which is nice. We also got the chicken liver which was done very well so all you pate lovers should try it. The tart was amazing. I'm not a sweets person and this was hard to stop forking at. My wife is a sweets person, and claims to be the best tart she's had. Awesome little trailer joint in a parking lot off the main strip in Del Ray. For regulatory reasons I'm sure they can't setup tables and sell a few cold beers, but I can dream. . .
Quite simply to most amazing pizza to be found in Northern Virginia if not the entire DelMarVa area. The crust reminds me of a fine French baguette, the cheese is incredible, and the toppings are perfectly portioned to balance flavor with the moisture of the bread, cheese, and sauce. Just incredible.
I’ve gotten Stracci twice - first time just a plain pizza and second time two pizzas, the broccoli, and the olive oil cake. My next order might be the entire menu because everything I’ve eaten from them is fantastic! I picked up in Alexandria and drove my food back to DC - my pizza crust was still super crunchy and the cheese had not turned into a weird plastic blob like so many other pizzas I’ve tried, both major wins. Super excited to try their new Spring menu.
