I just raised my stars review to 4 stars from the previous 2 stars. Since the last review, Vito's Amherst definitely raised their game! I've been in 2x now with my mom & everything was better. Our server, the same the last 2 times has been perfect. She gets 5 stars: attentive but not over-bearing, forward thinking about what we need but not needing to be the center of attention. Our food the past 2 times has been great. Last time I got the linguini in white sauce & it was perfect. Today was Greek salad & bread sticks & mom got a personal pizza. She was very happy and even took her leftovers home. Next time I'll be brave & see if they've gotten their game back w/my favorite lemon pepper salmon & if yes, they'll get their 5 stars. Every business can slip if managers are not staying on top of things. It's impressive that they recognized how they'd fallen and are correcting & improving their food. Very good on them.

Usually very good food but consistency still remains a problem here. They're best when they're busy and the cooks are the more experienced ones. I'd give them a 5 star if they could get more consistent with quality.

You can tell when Sal's paying attention here or not. Clearly, lately, he's not. I've been coming to Vito's Amherst since they opened. For years prior, I frequented Vito's Lovingston. I KNOW what they can do when they're on top of their game. Today was the first time though that I sent my plate back and asked for it to be comped. The potato wasn't cooked, the salmon was undercooked and the wonderful lemon pepper sauce that I usually order extra of because it's so good, really sucked. It wasn't the same dish and it was as if it'd been made by a 4 year old. Our waitress was new and with only 4 tables was overwhelmed. She barely made it to the table to check on us at all, no drink refills, no real apology for the meal being so bad. I had to go get my own to go box for my mom's Drunken Shrimp meal that was also sub par. With all of these breweries and eateries opening in the area, Vito's can no longer depend on a more or less hostage customer base with few other places to go to. My mom and I are $50 a week, average, customers but if you don't improve the consistency & quality, we'll likely be taking our dollars to a place with better food.

Here now. Had a bad morning. Wanted to hide & have a good meal in peace. Came back to my comfy place here at Vito's. Ordered my favorite, lemon pepper salmon. I had stopped getting it 'cause it was not good last few times.

Today is perfect!! Lauren, my server is so sweet & good at her job. The chef knocked it out'a the park today. Sal should give him a raise. My meal was perfect & I needed to be today. Great, great improvement & great dining experience! Back up to 5 stars.

We stop by sometimes to get dinner. We really like this spot for lunch and dinner because my family with diet needs can eat here as well. The food is good. This visit, we had some issues with our server. They weren't terribly engaged and at one point were gone for quite awhile when we needed refills and the check. They were seen at the bar watching the game on TV. We are not needy people because we know how intense serving can be. This was a tad much to wait that long.

Amazing service! The BEST pasta I've ever had! The Alfredo sauce, buttery/creamy/savory, should be sold in jars! So delicious!

The pizza isn't very good. The service is fantastic, no complaints on that, and I'm not saying the cooks did anything wrong either. The pizza was cooked perfectly. It's just the flavor of it I don't like, or more the lack of flavor, that seemed into be drowned in salt. Can't even taste the cheese. Just being brutally honest. It could've just been me
