Exquisite food and views! Went for my 30th birthday! The table was lightly decorated for me with birthday confetti. The service was impeccable. Best steak I’ve ever had. And received a free dessert! So yummy! Definitely a great way to welcome my thirties!
This is my first time dining at Ruth’s Chris, and I went with my boyfriend for an early Valentines dinner. As someone who works in fine dining, I notice the small details of service during the meal. Everything was on point. Our server Christian was fabulous - he was very friendly and helpful, but did not hover. We enjoyed a bottle of Zinfandel for a very decent price. I enjoyed my crab cakes and my boyfriend’s NY strip was cooked perfectly. We shared the lobster Mac and cheese as a side which was MASSIVE and delicious. At the end, we were surprised with a complimentary dessert for our early Vday, which made the already-wonderful experience even better.
My only suggestion is that there be somebody on the floor who is knowledgeable on the wines by the bottle. I was very interested in trying something new, but it seemed as if staff was unfamiliar with the bottles on the list (i don’t blame them, it’s a HUGE lost). I was able to choose a wine I liked, but with no guidance whatsoever.
Grand experience. We will be back!
The decor and view are top notch. The cocktails were nice - imaginative choices and well-prepared.
However, the selection and preparation of the food is not commensurate with the price. The steak was just okay. The cheesecake was pretty dry, didn't taste fresh. The sides all seemed like heavy choices (lots of cream and butter - get your gallbladder ready!).
The dining room was crowded with too many tables (people bumped into our chairs, exiting diners were blocked in by trays, tables, waitstaff). We were seated in the center of the room - it wasn't a good spot.
If you go, reserve a table near the window (seriously beautiful - I wouldn't accept a different spot, even if it meant changing the day of my reservation), get a drink off the special cocktail menu, get a sauce with your steak (for a bit of extra flavor), and maybe try dessert somewhere else.
Went here for lunch on Christmas afternoon. Was seated and served promptly. Service was excellent. The servers kept an eye on us without making us feel rushed. The view of the winter sun setting was beautiful. And, most importantly, the food was delicious! Great wine, salad, steak and dessert.
This was an absolutely amazing meal. I ordered my steak medium well and it came back medium well yet was still tender and juicy. I also had the mashed potatoes which were far from the plane. They were laced with garlic and made in a butter sauce that was absolutely delectable. There are very few negatives to this place, the only warning is that you must understand that this is fine dining. The price is high, and then entree average is about 45 to $50. There is however ample parking underground. I highly recommend it
