First of all, I LOVE how easy it is to park and walk to the restaurant. Second, I love how cozy the rooms are. It isn’t too loud and yet not so quiet that you can hear other people talking. The little cookies they give you are unique and fun and a good alternative to a bread basket. The aperol spritz was very generous in size and delicious. They have several spritz choices, actually. Same with Negroni. I can’t think of any italian restaurant in this price range that understands the importance of spritz options…
I loved the little gem salad I had, it was fresh and light, a perfect pre- pasta course. I dug in to the whipped ricotta, a truly original appetizer that was so delicious and unique. My kids even loved it…Then I had the oxtail ravioli, which looked like standard ravioli, but tasted like heaven. My husband had the Campanella all romana…he was very pleased. Not a huge portion, but decadent and perfectly thought through. For dessert I had a huge brownie sundae that was so good, I think I could go back just for the sundae. It was decadent. Such a delicious meal. My kids were as happy as we were. It was really a special dinner.
What a great addition to the neighborhood! I have dined here multiple times and it never disappoints. The hand made pastas are spot on and the wine list covers a broad spectrum of Italian varietals and regions. The tuna crudo is always a great way to start off your meal and the Campanelle and scallop risotto are amazing as well. The porchetta is one of the best versions I've encountered in a restaurant. Make sure to save room for one of their slices of cheesecake as well. A beautiful space and attentive service seal the deal for me as a go to spot for a great meal.
Unfortunately this was a disappointing experience. The wine selection was just not great, and the food was underwhelming. The scallop risotto literally had two scallops. The service was also subpar, but I’d give them the benefit of the doubt since they’re fairly new.
The chanterelle arancini and fried shrimp appetizers were great. Bread soup and rigatoni bolognese were popular. Scallop risotto and artichoke agnolitti were amazing but not super filling. Two people who got the fettuccine carbonara were unimpressed. The marscapone cheesecake is very good but not really a dessert-barely sweet and the dusting and sauce are even a bit bitter due to coffee.
