The Freshman VA

Was super excited to try this place as the ambiance looked amazing from the exterior. The staff were friendly, however, there were quite a few hiccups in getting the correct latte order and our server was unaware of how to enter our order in the computer. She also could not answer questions regarding menu items. Nonetheless, we stayed for their happy hour and I will say the food was a bit underwhelming and there were a lot of fruit flies. Seems as though breakfast would be a better choice for the time being until they're more established!

Thrilled to have this place in the neighborhood. Food, staff, atmosphere, everything was wonderful!! Catfish Po boy was delicious. The ham, fig and fennel toast was an unexpected hit. And the oysters were great! We immediately talked about coming back and who we will bring along to enjoy The Freshman with us! Cannot wait.

I'm looking forward to trying out this new spot. I've read great reviews about it! For those questioning parking, I know the garage on 18th (for access to 1750 retail) is *FREE* after 4PM everyday and *FREE* after 4PM Fridays - Monday, 6AM. You can also park during regular hours for 1 hour free. I think this applies to all of the garages but I could be wrong 🤫

Have been waiting for this place to open for a while, and it did not disappoint! We went for Sunday Brunch and ordered several things to get a feel for the place. Everything we ordered tasted great, and we will definitely be back for their breakfast options. Staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful. Looking forward to having dinner with drinks in the outdoor seating area ASAP. Parking (sometimes free) options in the garages across the street and under the building, and 15 minute spots just a few steps away. Highly recommend!
