Locos Grill

Great place for authentic Mexican food.
Tacos Al pastor the unbelievable.
Most definitely that I will keep going back for more

I spent most of my life in So Calif and we moved to this area about 5 years ago. The only problem we have had with Virginia life was the utterly horrific Mexican food...if you could call it that. Now, it is a bit better here vs Lynchburg (where we first moved in Va.) but still it is far too Americanized.

Two weeks ago, in our never-ending effort to try and find decent Mex, my daughter and I went to Locos Grill. It is a bit of a hole-in-the-wall, in a nearly empty strip mall (with a single car in front), and so we weren't exactly optimistic.

But I am only posting this review because the place was either incredibly good or viciously bad. Thankfully, it was the former! The menu is very limited--authentic street tacos and more Tex-Mex tacos but, I got to say, what Locos Tacos does, they do well.

I got the three street taco plate and my daughter got the three chicken tacos and we swapped one each. Both were absolutely delicious and stuffed full of meat. We went back last weekend and my daughter again got the chicken taco plate but I switched up my game to the al pastor and I have to say I liked it even more. The owner was really friendly and chatted us up for a bit as I asked about his business. Both times he has given us a steaming cup of Mexican hot chocolate that was delicious. I can't speak highly enough about the quality of Locos Grill tacos...in fact, we are going there tonight for our third go-round.

If you like authentic Mex, this little place is THE place to go for quality Mex.
