A neighborhood staple for the past 23 years. No better pizza in the area, and you can't go wrong with any choice on the menu. They'll always make you feel like family, whether it's your first visit or one hundredth.

A family favorite for the past 20 years. Great pizza and pastas. Can't say enough about this underrated place. The owners are awesome and always there. The waitstaff feel like family.

We've been going to Candella's for years. I'm not a big fan of Italian food, it all tastes the same to me, but they have white pizza with pineapple so I'm good with that. We always go with a large group of people and everyone seems to love the meals. The waitresses and owners are super friendly and able to feed us fast, as we always end up there somewhat late, just before closing time. Since I'm not a good judge of the food, I give these folks 5 stars for personality.

Good food, great pizza and the staff are very friendly. The owner can be flipping a pizza crust or cooking up a meal he will always notice you walking through the door and wave. The building is old (only reason I didn't give 5 ????), but will be moving into a new location soon.

This is an edited review, previously of one star. I had gotten a sub par pie one weekend and was very sad. I wrote a one star review because I felt like a restaurant needs to be consistent. Since that pie, I have had four or five top-notch pies, consistent with the level of quality that candelas has historically provided. This is hands-down the best family-owned New York style pizza joint in the Richmond area. I can say that now with great confidence. I would also note that the staff are nice, hard-working, and thoughtful. I recommend it to anyone.
Do not confuse this location on Huguenot with the location on Midlothian turnpike. They different owners and put out a different product.
