Being from NYC, I'm always a bit skeptical about getting my food from anywhere other than Brooklyn or Queens. I was very happy to find this place. The interior design, the food, the service and the nice soca music were all very pleasing. When your kids actually finish ALL the food, you know it's good.
The only thing I would say is that you should get there early because we were quite disappointed to know that a few things were already finished when we got there around 3:30‐ 3:45pm.

SPEECHLESS! I’m sitting here finishing up my King fish, white rice, and curry gravy with sorrel drink! All I can say is finger licking good! The atmosphere and energy is so inviting and takes me back to Guyana. I danced to old soca songs the entire time I ate lunch. Thank you for a delicious meal…..

The greedy me also got 3 doubles togo! I’ll be back…

I've visited Trini Roti on two occasions thus far. The restaurant, tucked in a fairly busy strip mall off of Midlothian Turnpike is neat and clean, decorated in a red, black and white Trinidadian theme including a steel pan on display. There is always wonderful Caribbean music playing. The menu has some regular items (Doubles, Curry Chicken) and a daily feature (Bake and Shark, Oxtails, etc...) depending on the day of the week. I have enjoyed both the Curry Chicken and the Oxtails which are both authentic and cooked to perfection. The Trinidadian Curry is quite different from a traditional Jamaican Curry in that it infuses spices which lead to layers of flavors more commonly associated with Indian cuisine. This is of course an ode to Trinidad's history and blended culture. The Oxtails were tender and flavorful. The Roti is decadent and absolutely perfect for enveloping your dishes or enjoying alongside. The Roti is made fresh daily and the best I have had in Richmond, it transported me back to Brooklyn where some of the finest West Indian cuisine may be found in the US. They also sell a selection of Solo drinks for a very authentic experience. Parking is very convenient. Another hidden gem found in Richmond!

If you are looking for authentic Trinidad and Tobago food, this is your place: excellent service, clean environment, and delicious food. I had doubles for breakfast and chicken roti for long lunch. I'm looking forward to my next visit. I'm a bit extra, so I made some chickpeas and added it to my curry.

Best Roti in Richmond!!! The restaurant truly gives wonderful Caribbean vibes. It is nice and intimate. The music enhances the atmosphere! Great for family, small celebrations or date night. The owner Ms. Catherine is so lovely. Pleasant personality and beautiful spirit. The food is beyond, it is absolutely delicious!!! There is a variety of savory, mouthwatering food and West Indian drinks to satisfy your palate. Not to mention the prices are great!
