Sari Filipino Kusina

Sari Kusina just opened in Supreme BBQ and it’s fantastic. I love Paolo Dungca’s cooking. He opened Pogiboy, then Hiraya, and now this- finally a good Filipino spot in NoVa. I’ve been twice since it opened in early December and I enjoyed everything. The smoked beef rib bistek was massive and still tender. The brisket sinigang was so flavorful and unique. The lechon kawali was crispy but not greasy at all. I loved the ginataang gulay (butternut squash and other veggies in coconut milk). I also had the sisig, pork skewers, and the pork tocino ribs- all delicious. I highly recommend. I’ll be going back regularly.

Great ambiance in comparison to other local Filipino restaurants. The place has a high ceiling and is well-lit. Nostalgic decorations. Decent menu selections. Food tastes as expected of regular Filipino cuisine. Ordered crispy pork sinigang but got regular crispy pork on rice. They gave us two free bowls of food so I opted not to complain.

Food was fantastic! I tried the sisig, hamonado, pork bbq, pork and chicken isaw, and lechon kawali with the java rice and atchara. They all provided the satisfaction I was looking for in comfort Filipino food!

The staff was amazing! I went with a huge group of family and friends, and they catered to our needs properly and in a timely manner. We went on their opening day so I assumed things could get hectic and hairy, but the staff was well-organized and knew their roles to the tee. Very impressive!

I'm extremely glad this place opened. Can't wait to be back and have that experience over again!

Heard about this place from an Instagram post and was finally able to go after my wife wanted to go to another place in the same strip mall.
Got a 2 meat combo. We liked the brisket the best. I like the char on the (regular) ribs.
We also got the tocino ribs entree which had a little tocino flavor to it but I thought could use a little bit more. Came with what they called Java rice which I thought was a little dry. And the atsara is not bad but my grandma's is better (not a knock in this case).
My wife also added mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, and corn; all pretty standard for me but my wife wasn't feeling it.
Last, we added ube bread which was good.

Overall, friendly person at the counter, clean place, and decent price for the area. I'd go back to try other items

Nice little BBQ shop. Wings were tender, pulled pork was tender, sauce was mild with a little kick. Employee promptly and politely solved a problem with mac n cheese temperature for us.
