The fried hot honey chicken on the chedar biscuit is so good. I went two days in a row because I was dreaming about it. The store is a bit tight, so if you don't want to wait inside drooling over doughnuts than call your order ahead for pickup.
I've been to the DC location and this one is certainly comparable. The price is a bit up there for a doughnut shop (and I'm someone who frequents Sugar Shack), but it's worth the wait and $$ to that those made-to-order selections. Yum.
My family recently moved away from the DC area and there's almost nothing that I miss more about DC than Astro's Doughnuts & Fried Chicken. To try their doughnuts and chicken is an experience worth having in this lifetime. My mouth is watering just writing this review. If you're near a location, give it a try. You won't regret it.
Yummy! Only tried donuts today but excited to come back and try the savory items. Wasn't a fan of the vegan donut, but that's because the yeast donuts taste so much better in comparison --with better texture too.
Counter staff is friendly and helpful if you're a first timer. I ended up getting the chicken sandwich on a savory donut with bacon and sirarcha mayo. It comes with lettuce and tomato, so if you're not a fan be sure to subtract it when ordering. The chicken was cooked perfectly. So crispy, warm, and not at all dry like some chicken joints. Overall, it hit the spot and I would 10/10 recommend. Their donuts looked delicious- will have to try them next time.
