My first time ordering from Sagar Chinese. I ordered take out. I got chicken mo mo and sizzling beef. Tasted yummy. Took a flyer, gave to family, willing to order since it is halal Chinese food. The inside looked neat and clean. I'm not from Indian-subcontinent. I wished more people from other ethnicities will give Sagar Chinese a try.
Very good and tasty food! I have always loved the Thai Soup of Sagar Chinese at Jamaica, Newyork. I ordered that in their new Virginia location as well. The taste of Shrimp Thai Soup is very yummy as I expected. I have also ordered Shrimp Balls, Chicken Wings, Sizzling Chicken, and combination Fried Rice. Every Item was very yummy. This will be me and my family’s go to place whenever we want Chinese food! Best Wishes for Sagar Chinese in Virginia 👍🏻!!
Our server, Hakim, was terrific! He took the time to make sure we understood the menu, and made us feel very welcomed for our first visit. Food and service was outstanding. We had a wonderful experience tonight at this restaurant! We will be back, thank you Hakim and staff! ☺️
Have ordered take out from them a few times now and have just gotten the opportunity to write up a review.
Thai soup - Subjective opinion on this but could be slightly thicker. It's almost broth like watery. So, a little more corn flour should do the trick.
Chicken lollipop- Chicken tastes fresh 👍However, very thick batter. Tastes a little raw as you bite into it. Also could make it a bit more spicy.
Manchurian Fried rice- tastes good. No complains.
Chili onion chicken- Chicken tasted fresh. Needs a little more kick. Maybe add more julienne cut green chillies.
Service- Needs big time improvement and training.
-Only one machine to process payments when they started accepting cards. Long wait times and lines.
-phone etiquette needs to be taught. Should answer with proper greeting and disconnect the line with a greeting and not just hang up.
- Menu online is different from what's in store. One or the other needs to be updated. For example: No lunch specials. But listed online.
I tried to provide constructive criticism for improvement. The service one is not one to be taken lightly. As I for once would never recommend a place if service is bad regardless of how awesome their food may taste.
Will stop by again to try more items and look for signs of improvement. Will update this review if things have improved.
