Another great American tradition still going strong! Lots of original inside from 1947. Good food, super friendly. Just a delightful breakfast/lunch.
Wow. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with the usual: lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo. This particular burger came with barbecue meat of your choice: beef, chicken, or pork. I chose pork (with no sauce). The waitress said they only have one kind of sauce, and it's sweet. Not my thing. The meat is smoked there by the owner in a smoker right in the parking lot in front of the diner. When my burger came, it looked like a mini tower. There was a Huge pile of pulled pork on top that had crispy edges. Delicious! I didn't care for the burger. It was way too dense, like the meat had been worked too much. It had something added to it (maybe Worcestershire sauce) so, it tasted like a really hard meatloaf patty instead of a burger. But, that's old-school 50's style, and this IS a diner so . . . it's just not my style. Ordering a barbecue platter next time. ????
I walked there from my hotel because I like one of a kind Diners and the atmosphere/conversation/food that they provide. Had I known they had BBQ that good, I would have ran there from the hotel.
Get the pulled pork platter and get the sauce on the side, it doesn’t need the sauce, use the sauce for your fries.
The waitress Michelle is great and treats people the way they deserve to be treated. She did lie to me though, there’s no way she’s old enough to have a 22 year old son.
Got to enjoy their pulled pork, brisket, BB Q chicken as they recently catered an event that I attended. The homemade coleslaw is amazing - as it's not sour and not too sweet. You can tell that the food is definitely made with love. Can't wait for more.
It's a real old-fashioned diner; we went for breakfast and were not disappointed! Also, reasonable prices for what we consider a "normal" breakfast. Biscuits weren't quite southern, still very good. Their spin on sausage gravy was delicious, and our little one says the pancakes are better than mine.
