Mama Sarah's

My family loves Mama Sarah’s! We go there as often as we can. Food is great! The prices are very reasonable. I love the catfish and turnip greens…I didn’t even know I liked turnip greens, but I get them every time now. My husband loves the cheeseburgers! Our teenaged son loves both! The fries are cooked just right! The desserts are very yummy!

In from Florida. Girls day shopping and decided to try Mama Sarah's because of a TV newscaster review. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted! Smiles all around, welcome to Mama Sarah's. Please seat yourself. Friendly beyond, just like if someone came to your kitchen! The menu is straightforward and easy to read. Any questions we had were answered. And our food came out....we were shocked!!! So much food! It looked good and it was so very good. Every person that came to our table was so kind and friendly thank you all. This day and time that speaks so much! We could not eat all of our food, so we had to get a to go box. We continued shopping, but before we went back, we called in orders to take home for that evening. Try this place you will not be disappointed at all!

The food was amazing. Service was good & you get alot for your money. I got Whiting fish, fries & turnip greens, plus banana pudding 😍

How did we get so fortunate as to stumble onto this friendly, welcoming, budget friendly restaurant on our way through Rocky Mount???

My fish sandwich was enough for two meals easily.

I got to meet Barbara yesterday. That says something right there; we're already on a first name basis. She was the hostess/server and she made me feel very welcome in being there. When ordering, I went with one of my favorite go-tos in trying out a restaurant for the first time-a hamburger and fries. Hamburgers are kinda hard to mess up AND, if you do happen to get a bad one, then you pretty much know that that place probably won't survive. In their case, my burger was more of an ample sized burger than I had expected. That was definitely an added bonus, even coming out prepared in the way that I had requested. And, it had a really nice grilled flavor too. The raw onion on mine did not disappoint me either, as I feel that it is the onion that truly makes a good tasting burger. I had to ask about the seasoning on the fries, the fries that came out with a perfect crispiness and flavor. My guess was Old Bay but that wasn't it. Barbara said that the chef calls it the "magic dust". I even got to meet the chef but he didn't divulge any secrets. Ha. I'm glad that he didn't though, that'll keep me coming back for more. One thing that he did tell me was that his brother did all of the art work in the place. I was impressed; I do like what they've done with the place. Something that is very rare for me, I told them that I already know what I want to try out the next time that I come in-their catfish. Hearing that it is one of their most popular items on the menu, I'm already looking forward to that. I surely hope that they will do well. Y'all should come on down and give them a try. Enjoy!
