(April 28, 2019, 3:41 pm)This is definitely a place for comfort food. As long as you don't go looking for fresh fruit or low-fat food, you will love this place! You seat yourself at the quaint tables or booths, and you are immediately greeted by a friendly server. I got French toast, and my husband got the hungry man's breakfast. The food is well-cooked, plentiful, and very affordable. It is a popular eatery for folks from all walks of life.

(April 4, 2019, 3:22 pm)This perfect place for the area. Carl's is a staple for my visits to Smith Mountain Lake. The options available and the prices make this place great. I will say the past few times I've been the water/ice has had a strange taste. My girlfriend had to get her soda without ice and it still had an odd taste. I should've done it too, but it doesn't seem to bother the locals.
