The bbq was terrific, as was all the food, and the people who work there are friendly, courteous, and quite helpful. Well worth the visit.

Paid 60 bucks for three plates of food and I had to go get my own sauce..... that was in a 5-gallon container.... that was empty.... that I had to tilt forward to get some out like it was an iced tea dispenser. Im good.

Not too thrilled with this restuarant. I ordered carryout as soon as the place had opened. The lady who took my order was very nice and helpful. The ribs I ordered came out within minutes after placing the order. That was my first warning. They may have been from the night before. The ribs were dry and had no real flavor to them at all. Not at all like just cooked ribs should taste. They were probably frozen, then microwaved. The sauce I used help me choke a few bites down, but I had to throw out the rest of a full rack of ribs. I had been to their other restaurant in Woodbridge, VA several times and always loved their food. I was a happy repeat customer. This was my first time at this restaurant, and probably my last!

This BBQ joint is a local asset in the Fredericksburg area. An unexpected location - in a front corner of a little shopping center parking lot facing busy Rt. 3 highway + just 2 lights East of I-95 at exit 130 (+ near the Rt. 1 overpass), and the inside of this casual restaurant is a welcome relaxed vibe with quaint, + charming southern picnic style dining room.

The beef brisket I ordered was lean (+ I prefer sliced rather than chopped) + I asked for sauce on the side. It came just as I requested. They have several different varieties of sauces to try by the self-serve drink station.

I also ordered a surprise menu item for a BBQ joint - (my favorite) fried catfish by the pound - and can honestly say it was the best I've ever tasted. I order fried catfish anytime I see it offers on a menu, and this fish was s so well done! It has a light cornmeal breading, cooked to golden brown + perfectly seasoned. The fish was fresh and they gave a generous portion. Finished my order with their tasty slaw + baked beans. It was all really good + I do recommend this place for good value & thoughtful menu touches.

Dixie Bones makes the BEST BBQ!! I used to live in Virginia, near the original Dixie Bones. I was so happy to find this Dixie Bones Outpost while traveling thru Fredericksburg VA!! I now live in NYC and I crave Dixie Bones food so often!! I can't find any BBQ that comes remotely close to being as good as Dixie Bones!! All of their food is homemade, and they also have wonderful homemade pies for dessert!!! LOVE DIXIE BONES!! Wish I could eat it right NOW!! ????
