The Pit and The Peel

I had a pleasant experience. I purchased the Mango bowl and oh my goodness, it was delicious!!! The cashier was friendly and provided great customer service. I didn’t have to wait that long for my order. Great place to eat with some healthy options on the menu.

Everything was great! My smoothie was delicious. I’m glad they opened a new location in Short Pump. The employees were friendly as well.

I was pretty excited to see this location open up at the mall. Seeing as I am a mall employee I am always looking for healthier options if I decide to do take out. Ive been here a few times the first few times were okay. This last time I spent $17 on a wrap (with no side) and a smoothie and was told they are not doing mall employee discount until they get up and running but they have given me a discount the 2 previous times I have been here... I feel like for the price point and quality I can just go to tropical smoothie and get a whole meal for maybe $12 and a larger smoothie. I mean $17 I could of ate at any of the restaurants around here for that price. Pretty disappointing.

I was so excited when I saw they were opening a Pit and Peel near my workplace. The new location is very nice and convenient for me. The food was great, as expected. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is for the acai bowls. They are one of my favorite things, and I get one every time I go. I noticed at this location (and I think the James Center location) the bases cannot be modified because they have a sort of soft-serve looking machine for the base of their bowls. That is definitely cool and probably more convenient, but every single one of their bowls has banana in the base. I strongly dislike bananas, and at the location in the fan I can get it without (and it's awesome!). I got one of the bowls anyways hoping that it would be a small enough amount that I could still enjoy it. The banana taste was so over-powering that I just ate the toppings and couldn't finish the rest. Everything else was good though!
