Habanero Mexican Grill

I've never been to Mexico, but my guess is that this is the most authentic taqueria in Richmond.

Beef tongue, Al pastor, and barbacoa, along with the shrimp are my favorites. It's super fresh, spicy, and delicious.

Almost all the patrons are latinxs, so you know it's a hidden gem.

First time, so I ordered 2 beef tacos. $6.50. A few tables inside and half dozen outside. A short wait. Tacos were fresh soft flour tortillas filled with mildly seasoned meat covered with green sauce and chopped onions and cilantro. On the side were slices of grilled onions and a single slice of hot pepper. The tacos were warm and juicy and very good tasting. I felt the price was too expensive for what I got though. Who knows... this may be West End prices.

I tried Habanero Mexican Grill yesterday. I got the cheese quesadilla. I got all the toppings. It tasted amazing. I wish they would have put the toppings on it though. I wasn't too fond of putting them on each and digging on my plate to get the full bite. All in all I enjoyed the food and I will return to try some more food here.

A hidden gem! I ordered three different tacos and every single one was delicious. Fresh salsa, fast/friendly service, tasty grub. Definitely will be back!

The BEST Mexican food in the RVA for sure.... some of the best food I've had period. Try whatever, try all of it its ALL great. Just as a bonus, the employees are also very pleasant and helpful too. Only possible issue is writing this review has made me want it now!
