Rico's Mexican Grill

Well the location is kinda romantic and nostalgic. If your looking for a secluded, romantic place to eat. I have to say, the food is a bit much better, the first time I ate here. I came to see, if, I was going to be wowed this time. They still need to work on their customer service. The worst part is, they have to always try to keep their floors clean . giving the same amount of attention and cleanliness as the tables. So stay tuned for the verdict home run or the strike out. ????

Stopped in for a quick lunch on mothers day. Nice food, portions and people. Great prices too!

I'm waffling between a 3 and 4 because: our waitress did not refill our drinks or ask if we needed anything except once when she asked if we wanted more chips and salsa. Usually, Rico's gives you more food than you can eat so i ordered the chicken fajitas for my husband and I to share. First time I've ever left hungry! The portion we received probably wouldn't have fed me alone and I don't eat much. It was really good and this is why I gave the restaurant 3 stars. It is also worth mentioning that the place was packed due to a baseball game in the same area. Normally Rico's would receive 5 stars from me but let's hope tonight was more the exception than the norm and next time we visit, the service and portions are more like what I'm used to seeing at this establishment!!

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. We used to go to the Mechanicsville location but now that we are on this side of town, the John Rolfe location is my favorite. The servers are so friendly and accommodating. The food is consistently good. I won't say that there aren't other good places for Mexican food but this is just my preference. They have good deals on drinks as well.

I have to say at first I was not pleased with my first visit. I thought I would give them another chance. Wow. It was something wrong with me and not the food. I spoke to the owner and explained about previous visit and said how I thought it was not spicy enough. He explained everybody is different and so next time to ask for the spicier version. What a difference. It was exquisite and now it is a regular place I am my lady like to go and enjoy. The best Mexican food I have ever had in my 30 years of eating out in Richmond.
