Bar Symon IAD

Not a bad meal for an airport, plus a burger was reasonably priced compared to other locations, which were charging roughly double the price.

Its not easy to find a place to eat at an airport when you have a per diem of $15 but Bar Symon fit the bill. We had good service and I would go back again!

Bar Symon is a product of chef Michael Symon and let me say this for quick airport bar food this was quite good. The service was exceptionally quick and the menu quite extensive. I started with a Stella and delicious beer battered onion rings. I also had a bacon cheeseburger that was very well seasoned and served with the signature rosemary fries. Highly recommend for a quick bite at Dulles.

I had less than an hour until my flight. I wanted a drink before the flight and they had a very good tequila Margarita. I got a bowl of chili rather than eat the airplane food. It was expensive but better than expected.

I have spent many a layover having a few drinks or chowing down on some superb food here. Although they no longer have my beloved Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale on tap at the bar they still have some excellent choices, which they change seasonally. I enjoy munching on some Parmesan fries as a snack or a side. They’re skinny cut, deep fried, and doused in herbs and fresh Parmesan cheese. Although there are many great items on the menu my favorite is by far the Reuben. The bread is delicious and crunchy, the corned beef is never dry, and the kraut is just the right amount of tart. It all makes for a delicious sandwich. For an airport dining experience this is definitely hands down one of the best you’ll find.
