There's a reason why the "Cav Burger" was voted Best Burger in VA (yes, the whole state of VA) by burger connosiuer, George Motz. The fries are awesome, and the Funnel Cake Sticks (they taste like French Toast) are an excellent snack anytime. They have a decent (but small) beer selection, two TVs to watch sports, a pool table and 60+ years of history everywhere you look. One of the top 5 places to visit in LYH.

Cavalier Store is a neat little dive in the heart of the Rivermont district of Lynchburg. The nostalgia in this place is real with pictures of previous patrons, license plates that decorate the walls and ceilings from other patrons as well. Food was good and wait time wasn't bad. Portions were definitely worth the money especially the fries which come with ranch dipping sauce. If you want to take a neat trip I to the near past and have great food while doing it this is the place. Also they only accept cash and checks so do plan accordingly.

Excellent American/Bar food and one-of-a-kind atmosphere with tables carved with the initials and sayings of visiting customers. 4/5 stars only because they historically have only accepted cash. I have heard stories/rumors that the owner is a traditional man that isn't fond of men wearing tank tops/wife-beaters, but I'm unable to personally verify that. Well worth the trip nonetheless! (Be sure to order the seasoned fries! They're famous.)

They have one of the best Reubens I’ve had anywhere. The fries with the ranch are delicious. The tables are a little gross and their service is not very consistent but that’s minor to the overall experience.
