This morning my husband and I were craving for some frijolitos and fried eggs for breakfast, but did not want to make it ourselves, but also knew finding a decent Central American Restaurant was going to be near to impossible in this area. We gave this new restaurant in town a try. I am delighted with Don Jose's Kitchen, surprises abound at this modern Central American spot, tucked away in Manassas City. From the warm welcome of their attentive and friendly staff to their presentation of their flavorsome dishes, my husband as a Guatemalan himself comments that this restaurant is sure to take you back in memory to your abuela's (Grandmother's) kitchen. We enjoyed our Desayuno Chapin, Steak & Eggs Ranchero, and a Pork Tamale. I also enjoyed a piña empanada with my cup of coffee from their cute and clean Bakery next door. A must visit restaurant if you enjoy and craving for a typical Central American breakfast, or just looking for some pastries for your afternoon cafesito. They even have cakes to celebrate any special occasion which I will definitely give it a try in the future.
It was also a pleasure to meet Mary the restaurant's manager and daughter of the owner, and congratulate her myself for the good works, very pleasant young lady.

The menu is quirky with typical kind of diner foods mixed in with a few Latin American dishes. Prices are on par with sit down nicer places in the area. Service was very nice though it was just us at 12:00. I had a salad and the birria taco which was overcooked for my tastes (outside was burned) and the broth needed salt but the salsa was delicious. Salad was pretty decent with a nice portion of chicken and a few sprinkles of cheese and pecans. Dressing was tasty but it's very thin and pooled at the bottom so there is a sogginess alert to be made there though the kale and Brussels stood up well at lunch. We shall see with the left overs for tonight. We also tried the bakery. Flan is enough for two at least. Delicious! Super sweet as to be expected. Pineapple upside down cake:
A miss. Cake is dryish and there is an overpowering taste of cinnamon. No carmelized crust on the pineapple. They serve lavazza coffee for those interested. I might go back but not any time soon.

    Phenomenal!!!

On a whim, my two adult kids and I found this new restaurant with 5-star rating… I figured it would be new, and self-generated ratings, but after eating here IT IS ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!!!

The Penne jambalaya was the best I have ever had, and I spent 22 years in the Army traveling all over trying the local jambalaya, and this was amazing! And… the serving size was big enough to take a FULL meal home!

    Highly recommend!!!

They're new in the neighborhood, so we decided to try this place out. We love the environment! It's the only restaurant that we've been to that plays Praise & Worship songs! It's a relaxing atmosphere. Owner and servers were patient and friendly. We saw pictures online that were not on the menu, and they guided us with those. Fajitas and salmon were good! Will definitely come back.

Very good, redefining what I think of for Latin food. Big space on the inside. And they have breakfast all day. Steak sandwich is great. Check out the bakery before you leave.
