Hair of the Dog Eatery, Downtown Norfolk

I honestly don’t know how the place stays in business. Every Thursday almost I come here for happy hour and the place is totally dead. The happy hour specials of half off appetizers is great though! The staff is nice but can sometimes be inattentive just because it is so dead they get wrapped up talking to someone and you are trying to flag them down for another beer and they don’t even notice. Other than that though they have a good selection of beer. The regular menu is just “so-so”... nothing really wows me.

Great breakfast after the long night out. I had the special Benedict flight. Delish. The crab one was very good. Food came out quickly too.

Pretty good food. The mimosa wrecked me. The waiter was super nice. I give a 4 cause the meatloaf sandwich with mashed potatoes was too squishy. Maybe a crisp texture with that sandwich would be delicious-er. ????❤️

Walking into this restaurant for the first time I was greeted by Vincent as host. He had such a friendly face and a huge smile and I knew we had picked the right place. After seating us we had Jessica as our waitress she was so awesome! So friendly easy to talk to and amazing service. The food was incredible my bf got the meatloaf sandwich and devoured it in minutes. Said it was one of the best meals he’s ever had. Will DEFINITELY be back!!! Great atmosphere with even better food and employees.

Good about checking on you once, after your order, and not coming back. Ask for the check before you lose the chance.

Coffee is up to 2002's standards, which is to say no standard.

Cooks the steak right 3 out of 4 times tho!

Also opens at 7am downtown so i can't be picky here
